Annual Agricultural Policy Summit
On September 4, 2024, The Maddy Institute, in partnership with the California Water Institute, held its second annual summit to discuss how water users coexist in California.
The summit, designed as an open house style event, facilitated meaningful dialogue among water users, policymakers, researchers and community and industry leaders.
The event featured keynote speakers Karen Ross, secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture, and Wade Crowfoot, California’s secretary of natural resources. In addition, a diverse lineup of panelists offered insights into the latest research, policy developments and practical solutions in water resource management.

The Maddy Institute, in partnership with Climate Now and the Livermore Lab Foundation, hosted its inaugural summit on March 30, 2023 at California State University, Fresno. Participants had the opportunity to engage with the community, industry, policymakers, and academia in a technical discussion to explore the opportunities, technologies, and challenges for agriculture in a changing climate.
